Intuitive Art and Movement Workshop with Mary Harrison and Suzie Dodd Jan 3rd 2024

  • The Yoga Lounge Main Street Hillpark, Clarinbridge, H91E924 Ireland (map)

Start the New Year at Point Zero, a Journey Inwards using Somatic Yoga and Intuitive Painting.

In the words of Michele Cassou, founder of this particular “Point Zero” process -

“You are painting your way back to yourself, and you don’t need any techniques to be yourself. Everything you need is already inside you.”

Mary and Suzie have created this revitalizing event that we are both very excited to invite you to - interweaving movement,  relaxation, intuition and art, so you can take a deep dive into your inner world at The Yoga Lounge in Clarinbridge, Co Galway

This workshop is about giving yourself permission, giving your body permission to truly deeply relax, permission to take time and space to listen and express what emerges from this deep space through the medium of paint on paper. We will create a safe and nurturing space where you may give yourself permission to be real.

This will be a day without too many words - working with the body and art. You don’t need to learn anything new for this workshop as you know it already - it is a natural expression of who you are. The response from our previous workshop was that this was a wonderful day of growth and personal releases were experienced. We invite you to get in the stream of creativity and allow it to carry you into 2024.

Suzie will guide you in the morning with yogic, somatic body movement, breathwork and relaxation - spiralling inwards with intention. Bringing you to Point Zero

In the afternoon the studio will become an art space, where Mary will invite and support you in exploring your intuition through colour and line, using a brush, paint and paper. There are no comments, critiques or judgements in Intuitive Painting. There are no special techniques or skills necessary.

Something About Mary : I am an artist interested in the origins of creativity within us. I have studied Principles of Art Therapy and am currently training in Intuitive Painting Facilitation, as developed by Michele Cassou, of Point Zero Painting. I am interested in helping adults and children access and connect with their own unique creative spirits, with its life-giving energy and healing potential.

Schedule of the Workshop

10:00 - 12:30 am - With Suzie - we will begin with some simple breath awareness and move into some body awareness somatic practices. Then we will move into some classical yoga poses - nothing too strenuous and no experience or flexibility required. By getting quiet we will allow the body to communicate back to us in a deep somatic experience. We will get deeply grounded and then do some restorative poses.

12:30 to 14:00 - Lunch - we will go to Poppy Seed in Clarinbridge for lunch - I love the coffee there - if you prefer you can bring a lunch and get a coffee at the health shop around the corner. If you prefer to have your own lunch elsewhere this is perfectly fine.

14:00 - 17:00 After a brief introduction to the Point Zero process, and exploring our paints and brushes, you are on your way, in a moment by moment, brush in paint, paint on paper, deeply satisfying and freeing painting experience. We will work in silence, tuning into our internal feelings and intuition.

Mary will guide the process with prompts and questions, to encourage freedom and connection with your deeper wisdom. The emphasis will be on giving yourself permission to be spontaneous and playful. Your space will be private and sacred.
