So I've been doing the dog for over 25 years now - in the Iyengar style - just for the fun I compiled this video to see how many variations I could do in a row - over 54 - forgot about eka pada ...but hey...
Each variation has significant differences on the body and mind - for example - head supported is restful and recommended for women in menstruation or for high blood pressure whereas blocks under the wrists stop you dropping into the shoulder joint. A belt on the floating ribs stop over working in the lumbar - really there is one for everyone in the audience.
If you are a teacher and are interested in a bit of variation in the dog and you want the video slowed down with explanations of each variation in bullet form feel free to fill out the form below and I'll send it to you for 10 euro.
Other than that happy Down Dog.
